Associate Degree of Ministry
Course Overview
The SMBC Associate Degree of Ministry (AsDegMin) is designed to take your studies further than a diploma and give time for deeper reflection.
It will give you solid biblical foundations in Old Testament and New Testament. You’ll also study theology, ethics, church history, cross-cultural mission, preaching, and pastoral care. The electives let you tailor your course to your interests, particularly ministry and mission focused units.
The AsDegMin is equivalent to the first two years of the Bachelor degree. It can open pathways to further study. It equips you to serve in a local church, para-church ministry, or alongside your profession on the mission field. Full-time vocational ministry usually requires further study.
Note: Studying the AsDegMin full-time will also provide you the opportunity to concurrently do the SMBC Certificate in Bible and Mission (CBM). The CBM gives you access to all the benefits of SMBC’s expertise in spiritual formation, cross-cultural mission and pastoral ministry. It includes some extra classes, community activities, conferences and College Mission.
