Description

The church is at the very heart of God’s plans for the world. He is not merely saving individuals but a whole people for himself. So what does ministry in God’s church involve? How is that ministry shaped by biblical principles? How is it affected by the different settings, like church size and demographics? And how do those principles and settings shape the ministries that we do, like Sunday gatherings, growth groups or evangelism?

In this unit, we’ll explore the key things you need to know and practice to work faithfully in a church ministry context. We’ll think about the biblical principles that shape what the church does and how it does it. We’ll consider the variety of church contexts that will shape how we do church ministry. And we’ll also explore how those principles can be applied to a range of church ministries. Whether you’re hoping to work as a paid church worker or simply be a valuable volunteer serving in your local church, this unit will help equip you to do so thoughtfully and effectively.
