James joined SMBC in February 2025. He leads the Engagement Team, overseeing SMBC’s Brand, Marketing & Communications, Events, Alumni, Fundraising and Church Partnerships.
James studied with his wife at SMBC in 2019, completing a Graduate Diploma of Divinity. SMBC left a lasting impression on him, and a conviction that every Christian should consider a year devoted to spiritual growth, with training in how to understand and communicate the Bible.
He has worked in the Christian charity industry including Open Doors, International Justice Mission and The Salvation Army.
