Modern rooms

Rooms are modern, clean and bright, furnished with a bed, desk, and wardrobe. Common areas include a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, and tea and coffee facilities.

Rooms are on-site, a short walk across campus to classes, community spaces, and SMBC library. Accommodation includes a variety of rooms and layouts, grouped into housing for men, women, married couples, and families with children.

Local suburb

Our main residential Croydon campus is leafy and low-rise in the Inner West suburbs of Sydney. The Inner West is famous its cafes, parks, and bay walks. There are a variety of high quality local churches, shops and schools nearby.

You have access to local public transport, including buses and trains, with Croydon train station a short 20min walk or 7min bike ride.

Free on-site parking

All students living on campus receive a free on-site car space. Your allocated space is reserved all year round, protected on private property.

Additionally, there is ample free street parking around campus.

Cooked lunches and dinners

Food is a central community space for SMBC. We enjoy meals together, especially the community-wide lunchtime. For married couples living on campus, spouses and children are invited to join the community for lunches and dinners.

You will receive cooked lunches and dinners throughout semester periods. There are shared kitchen spaces for holiday periods, with many students travelling during the break.

Facilities and utilities

You will be living on-site, a short walk across campus to classes, SMBC library, community dining hall, faculty offices, community and study spaces.

There are on-site facility managers to respond to any requests or needs. Accommodation payments cover all utility costs including:

  • Laundry & dryer facilities
Community groups

There are wide variety of SMBC community groups. These groups form organically around the mutual interests of each cohort. Past groups have included weekly sport (soccer, touch football, frisbee), running, snorkeling, art & creativity, music, books and movies, board games, casual study, walk up evangelism, and social groups.

Single Men’s Accommodation

You will have your own room, in community with other Christian men, training and preparing for ministry together.

Rooms are on-site, a short walk across campus to classes, community spaces, and SMBC library.

Each room is furnished with a bed, desk and wardrobe. Common area includes a kitchen and living room, furnished with couches, chairs and tv.

 

Single Women’s Accommodation

You will have your own room, in community with other Christian women, training and preparing for ministry together.

Rooms are on-site, a short walk across campus to classes, community spaces, and SMBC library.

Each room is furnished with a bed, desk and wardrobe. Common areas include a kitchen and living room, furnished with couches, chairs and tv.

Married Student Accommodation (Without Children)

Residential accommodation is available for about 17 married couples (without children).

Couples live in a free standing, two story townhouse. Each couple has two rooms furnished with a  bed, desks and wardrobe. You also have a private ensuite, and kitchenette with mini fridge and sink.

The central common areas include a kitchen with an oven, fridge, dining table, lounge area and tv.

Families with Children Accommodation

We have housing accommodation for about 11 families in and around the Croydon campus. Most accommodation is either on campus, or on Badminton road, backing directly onto campus.

There are a variety of freestanding fully enclosed houses, with multiple bedrooms, kitchen, laundry, driveway and front and back gardens.

These houses provide more private space for children while still being connected to the campus community. They are an ideal space for family life, with easy access to the community and the opportunity to practice ministry and hospitality.
