Certificate in Bible and Mission
Course Overview
The Certificate in Bible and Mission (CBM) is an internal SMBC program that all full-time SMBC students participate in concurrently with their Australian University of Theology (AUT) course. The program supplements and complements your AUT course and is made up of a number of subjects and participation in the community life of SMBC.
The CBM includes a combination of subjects drawing on SMBC’s expertise in spiritual formation, cross-cultural mission and pastoral ministry. Satisfactory participation in the college community includes being present in lectures, chapels, college mission, fellowship and prayer groups, annual conference, sharing lunch together, as well as involvement in a local church.
Participating in the CBM alongside your full-time AUT course means it is a minimum of 2 semesters and up to a maximum of 6 semesters long.
The CBM is recognised by churches and mission agencies as one of SMBC’s distinctive features in training for ministry and mission.
