Going The Distance: Growing Faith In Kids That Lasts A Lifetime

Faith is a gift given by God. It is his work from beginning to end.

Yet God calls on us to be careful not to cause little ones to stumble. We can impact a child’s faith for good or ill.

In a world that tries to pulls us away from God, what are the key things we can do which will help establish in children a faith that is deep and strong – a faith that will weather the storms - a faith that lasts a lifetime?

We'd love you to come and join us as we explore ways of helping grow our kids’ faith - because we long to see them Going the Distance.

SEMINARS

Seminar 1a + 1b: Kids ask the best questions
Kids' questions can intimidate. But questions reveal what kids are thinking - what is curious to them. So come and join us as we learn how to celebrate questions kids ask and how learn how to help them find answers to their questions. (Note: seminars 1a and 1b go together)
Bruce Linton at Croydon Campus
Sarah Lancaster at Roberts-Dale Campus

Seminar 2a + 2b: Kids need more than kids
How can we shape our church culture to maximise the intergenerational relationships that exist? And what are the surprising benefits for both children and the older generations in the church? (Note: seminars 2a and 2b go together)
Naomi de Vries at Croydon Campus
Tim Beilharz  at Roberts-Dale Campus

Seminar 3: Using gifts to serve
God is at work in his people, changing them to be more like Christ. And one of the ways he grows his people is when they use their gifts to serve others. This seminar will explore how to identify gifts in children, equip them to use these gifts and create opportunities for them to serve.
Sandy Galea

Seminar 4: Safe places for every doubt
This seminar will explore how to create a culture where children feel comfortable to express doubts to adults they trust. It will also explore how to effectively address doubts so that children's faith grows strong.
Adam Jolliffe

Seminar 5: Transitions that strengthen
Times to transition - into our groups, from group to group and into youth groups - can be times of fear and uncertainty, as well as times of excitement. How can we equip children to make these transitions in ways that strengthen their faith?
Kirrily Griffiths

Seminar 6: Kids knowing and serving kids younger than themselves
Children's ministry that seeks to serve the child and never asks the child to serve others limits the growth of that child’s faith. Come and explore how to grow kids faith by creating serving opportunities for kids of all ages.
Stephanie Kyme

Seminar 7: Growing faith in the very young (Under 5s)
Making our children 'good' is not good enough. The gospel transforms the way parent's parent and the way leader’s teach and pastor kids. It’s in this environment of grace faith grows strong.
Jenny Cooke

Seminar 8: Opening our front door (Under 5s)
Come and explore different models of playtimes and get a hands on taste of what a music program could look like.
Jenny Cooke
