Chris Kotsaris

A child of Greek migrants, Chris grew up in Sydney. She experienced two cultures – Greek at home, Australian everywhere else. At university she studied engineering and science. Through fellow students she was introduced to Jesus. She has been following him ever since!

After several years as a high school teacher, Chris became a day student at SMBC. She excelled in Greek studies. She was awed and changed by great biblical teaching. Chris gained the most wonderful lifelong friends.

Chris has spent most of her career in the corporate world. She worked in energy, finance and communications in Australia and overseas.

Chris has been a member of West Sydney Chinese Christian Church for 35 years. She’s been involved in children and youth ministry. Chris serves on the board of Christian Surfers International. This is a global movement with the goal of reaching every surfer with the good news. She can’t surf … yet!

Chris is proud of her Greek heritage (“give me any word and I’ll show you its Greek root”). She is also a Sinophile and loves practising basic Chinese (Mandarin) every chance she can. Her interests are broad. Currently she is enjoying basketry, beach swims and bushwalks. She loves being part of the SMBC community again.
