Matt Williams
Lecturer in Biblical Hebrew; Technology Team Leader
Teaching and Pastoral; Management and Service Centre
BA (Hons) (USyd); Dip.Lang.Stud. (USyd); M.Div. (SMBC/AUT)

As a keen student of ancient languages, Matt had the opportunity to study a bundle of Semitic languages (Classical Hebrew, Aramaic and Syriac) alongside Classics (Ancient Greek and Latin) at the University of Sydney.
Matt teaches Hebrew language at SMBC, acting as the first guide for those starting down the path of engaging with the Tanakh texts in their original languages.
Matt oversees the Technology team as they provide IT and AV services and directly support other College staff. The team manages IT/AV infrastructure and equipment, administers networks, databases, websites and online services, develops specialised systems, facilitates hybrid classes, produces media, and supports College events. They work together to see SMBC’s learning communities thrive as God prepares people for gospel service.
Matt, Liz and their daughter sometimes lovingly foster plants on their balcony, and sometimes test out their survival abilities.
