At the 2016 SMBC Centenary Missions Conference, we celebrated the privilege we have as God’s people to declare his glory among the nations. To worship him in the splendour of his holiness. To ascribe to him the glory due his name.

Keynote speakers, Don Carson and Julyan & Lenna Lidstone, shared the biblical, theological and practical imperatives for global mission. Our 12 seminar speakers also brought us a wealth of wisdom and practical experience. It was a conference for pastors, for believers in our churches who are concerned to foster awareness of mission, and for those involved in, or considering involvement in, the glorious work of taking the gospel to all the nations.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Don Carson
Dr Don Carson is  Research Professor of the New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS). Don has taught at several colleges, served as a pastor and is the president of The Gospel Coalition. He is an active guest lecturer in academic and church settings around the world. He has written or edited more than fifty books – including editing the New Studies in Biblical Theology series, Pillar New Testament Commentary series and Studies in Biblical Greek series. He and his wife, Joy, reside in Libertyville, Illinois and have two children.

Julyan & Lenna Lidstone
Julyan joined OM in 1973 and went to India for 4 years, where God led him to serve Muslims. Lenna came to faith in 1975 and felt challenged to serve in Turkey while on a summer campaign in Belgium. They met each other at Bible school in Glasgow. After marrying they went to Turkey, where they had a church planting ministry for 15 years. Their two children were born while they were in Ankara. They now live in Scotland where they have a ministry with Iranians and Turks. Julyan was the area leader for OM ministries in Western and Central Asia, and is now Ambassador for OM’s Muslim People ministries.
