Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Ministry (BTh/BMin)
The BTh/BMin is aims to equip you for pastoral, evangelistic or Bible teaching ministry in Australia and overseas, with additional emphasis on a range of missions, pastoral and ministry skills. This combined degree includes the full Bachelor of Theology course which you will complete initially. Following this, the additional units leading to the award of the Bachelor of Ministry are chosen from a wide selection of ministry and practice areas: missions and cross-cultural studies, spiritual formation, evangelism and educational chaplaincy. You may also choose to include a research project or a Master of Arts level unit in your selection.
This is a 4 year full-time or maximum 12 year part-time course. If you choose the part-time study option we strongly recommend that you factor a full-time component (at least 2 semesters) into your course of study, if possible.
Satisfactory completion of Year 12 (with an ATAR of at least 65) in an Australian school system, or equivalent, is a prerequisite for entry into this course. If you do not have the required ATAR, an English writing exercise needs to be completed prior to enrolment. There may also be English proficiency prerequisites if your first language is not English.
The BTh/BMin requires the completion of 128 credit points (32 undergraduate level units) at 300-400 level.
For more detailed information on this course see the ACT course overview. (SMBC is an affiliated college with the Australian College of Theology (ACT))
