Biblical Theology (CT01)

2019 Semester 1 Wednesday Daytime Unit

One of the joys of being a Christian is reading God's word and growing in our understanding of what it means to know the Lord Jesus and serve him. One of the challenges that soon becomes apparent and one that many Christians of all stages face is how to apply the various parts of the Bible to the Christian life. Wouldn't it have been great to walk with Jesus along that Emmaus road and hear him explain 'what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself' (Luke 24:27)?

In this unit we will study the richness, diversity, and unity of the Bible and think through how the Bible fits together. We'll discover how major themes such as covenant and sacrifice develop throughout the Bible. We'll see how major events and structures in earlier parts of the Bible anticipate what was to come and so deepen our understanding of our salvation in Christ and strengthen our confidence in the faithfulness of God.
