Children’s Ministry Skills

AQF: 5

* Please note: Due to COVID-19, this unit will be offered in 'off-campus mode', that is, a mix of online lectures, videos, activities and interaction with lecturers and fellow students.*

Thursday Evening Unit

This is a unit of learning and practical skills related to the planning and conduct of effective children’s ministry. Areas of study include: skills and techniques for communicating with children; pastoral care of children and families; children and worship; children’s ministry teams; training children for ministry; group management of children; duty of care requirements.

With some churches coming back to face-to-face ministry over the next few months, now is the time to reflect on what this might look like for children's ministry. What lessons can we learn from isolation? How could things be different from the way they were? What new skills are needed? How can you refresh your ideas?

These interactive, online lectures will lead you through developing skills to meet the challenges and opportunities that lay before you. You'll develop a toolkit of fresh ideas, approaches and skills to help meet this new stage of your children’s ministry.
