Holy Spirit, Grace and Hope (TH211)

2019 Semester 1 Tuesday Daytime Unit

As Christians we're convinced that the Bible is a book about salvation. And yet the grammar of salvation is complex in Scripture. If we ask 'Have I been saved?', or 'Am I being saved?' or 'Will I be saved?', the Bible's answer is 'Yes!' In this subject we'll explore how this is the case; how our redemption has been accomplished and applied by God's grace alone, through faith in Christ alone.

As a college committed to the ultimate authority of Scripture, we'll be thinking first and foremost about what the Bible has to say about the person and work of the Holy Spirit, salvation and the last things. We'll also explore how the church has reflected on challenging questions like 'does God choose me or do I choose God?', and 'is it possible for a Christian to fall away?' And finally, we'll consider how these Biblical truths apply in our lives as individuals and in the communities we live in.
