2019 Semester 1 Friday Daytime Unit
This unit considers in detail three letters the Apostle Paul wrote to early Christian congregations in the 1st Century. Each one stands out in different ways. 1 Corinthians, a letter to a church full of the Holy Spirit and his gifts, but getting lots of their thinking and practices wrong. Philippians, Paul's warmest and most joyful letter which encourages us to gospel partnership and rejoicing in suffering. And Colossians, giving a cosmic, radiant picture of Jesus, his identity, his work, and his absolute supremacy over evil powers, religious systems and human efforts.
Christians in any age, and especially the 21st century church, have so much to learn about the Lord Jesus and how, practically and spiritually, his church should live and behave as they serve Jesus in a hostile and culturally confusing world.
