Pastoral Skills and Methods
AQF: 6/7/8 hybrid

SEMESTER 2 2021
Tuesday Evening Unit
PC003-612/712/812
Christian ministry is grounded in God’s love for people in the gospel of Jesus Christ. That means Christian ministry is necessarily about loving and caring for people, so that they love, trust and look to Christ. Ministry to people can be challenging at the best of times, and especially when people are faced with a crisis such as relationship breakdown, death, mental illness or domestic violence.
This unit aims to develop your understanding of the nature of pastoral care and the role of pastoral workers, and to provide you with skills and awareness of a wide range of pastoral issues, including domestic violence, anxiety/depression, dealing with cancer, handling church conflict, suicide, grief and loss, and abuse.
