Spiritual Formation for Professional Ministries
SEMESTER 1 2021
Thursday Daytime Unit
Competence and charisma often outstrip character in Christian leaders. However, what God primarily requires of Christian leaders in Scripture is character. That’s because leadership in God’s church is to be exercised by those who are first and foremost, followers of Jesus Christ. We can only serve as leaders if we are disciples of THE leader, Jesus Christ.
This unit examines how to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ within the context of Christian ministry. The aim is to teach you how to develop healthy patterns of doing ministry that will facilitate sustainable service in the longer term. Topics covered include ministry as vocation, managing stress, spiritual warfare, leadership with integrity, relating to others in godly ways, and living faithfully as a married or single person.
