Pastoral Skills and Methods
PC003
Description
Christian ministry is grounded in God’s love for people in the gospel of Jesus Christ. That means Christian ministry is necessarily about loving and caring for people, so that they love and trust Christ. Ministry to people can be challenging at the best of times, especially when people are faced with crises and tragedies.
This unit aims to develop your understanding of the nature of pastoral care and the role of pastoral workers. It will both celebrate the joys and opportunities of pastoral ministry as well as explore a wide range of challenging issues, including domestic violence, anxiety/depression, dealing with cancer, handling church conflict, suicide, grief and loss, and abuse.
