The SMBC S & M Werry Scholarship supports people pursuing evangelism, mission and word-based ministries.
This scholarship exists to support accommodation costs for new full-time study, giving access to residential study for the best immersive experience to prepare you for ministry and mission.
Scholarship Criteria:
- New full-time student
- Living on-campus
- Focused on, or have a strong desire to serve in evangelistic ministry at the conclusion of your study; pursuing a vocation in evangelism, mission or word-based ministry.
About Stan Werry
A lasting legacy with gospel impact
For over 50 years, Stan Werry was a humble businessman, deeply gospel-centred and a significant financial supporter of many evangelistic Christian organisations through his business activities.
Passing away in 2020, the directors of the company he established wish to honour Stan Werry and his wife May with the S & M Werry Scholarship in support of SMBC student accommodation costs.
The heart of this scholarship is to support people with aspirations to spread the gospel and see lives turn to Christ.

If this scholarship is of interest you can apply by preparing a letter (maximum 500 words) outlining why you are a suitable applicant, and emailing a pdf version to our Student Services Team Leader.
Please note: Applications are required by 30th September each year to be in consideration for the following year’s allocation.
