Marshall is married to Julie and has three adult sons. He serves as acting senior pastor at South-West Evangelical Church, Kingsgrove. Prior to that he and Julie were CMS missionaries in East Asia and Taiwan.

Marshall is passionate about studying the Old Testament, and the book of Job in particular. He is also interested in the intersection of ecology and theology and in sacramental theology. In his spare time Marshall enjoys running, cycling and playing chess (badly).
