Teaching and Pastoral
Heather Condren
Residential Student Advisor, Fellowship Group Co-Leader
B.A. (Moody Bible Institute), GradCert of Counselling (Excelsia College)
Heather and her husband, Janson, moved from Chicago to Sydney 17 years ago for Janson to teach Old Testament at SMBC – however, they saw the college as a place they could both serve and use their giftings together. Heather has had a variety of ministry experiences, including in church and parachurch youth ministry, management of university community life, mentoring women and counselling couples alongside her husband.
Although such involvements and formal training significantly shaped her heart and mind for ministry, she would say nothing impacted her more than the “hard knocks” of life and meeting Jesus in those spaces. She loves to encourage and support SMBC students in their own personal journeys of faith and learning. Outside of SMBC, Heather loves day excursions with her husband and three kids, reading in her squishy chair on her back porch, and going for walks ‘n talks with friends.
