We live in a post-Christian, post-churched, post-everything world! It’s a new landscape to witness and preach in. New generations need new ways of communicating. But thankfully some things don’t change, especially the power of the gospel to save and radically transform lives. Wherever we are, the urgency of sharing the good news about Jesus before his return remains.
This unit covers the principles of preparing and delivering evangelistic sermons. We’ll review the basic skills of exegesis and homiletics, but particularly look into the new challenges for evangelism in our changing world. We’ll focus on crafting different gospel presentations for different audiences and settings. We’ll cover a variety of forms of evangelistic sermons – such as expository, topical, and storytelling, and learn skills in exploring a variety of gospel metaphors.
Whether you're an experienced preacher or a budding communicator, this unit will help equip you to share the never changing gospel to an ever changing world.
